Sometimes it can be hard to separate the fact from myth in politics, that is why we have launched the ‘Opposition Watch’ section of this website to challenge, debunk and correct claims made by the opposition parties on Bromley Council about some of the decisions being made by Conservative administration.

The Future of the Council Theatre:
The claim: the Churchill Theatre is up for sale.
Made: by Bromley Liberal Democrats in their literature for the Hayes and Coney Hall by-election.
The Facts: The Theatre is not for sale. The Conservative Administration is working closely with the Trafalgar Group who run the theatre to find a solution to preserve its long term future, which could easily see the site gifted to them, possibly even with a reverse premium.
